Scholarship Information

The Archer Rivas Foundation (ARF) awards five $10,000 scholarships each year to outstanding high school seniors who show exceptional promise. We proudly select one student from each of the following schools: Crescenta Valley, La Cañada, Verdugo Hills, Glendale, and Hoover High School, celebrating the achievements of young leaders across our community.

To qualify, students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and be accepted to a 4-year college or university for undergraduate study. ARF looks for students who demonstrate not only strong academic performance, but also leadership, resilience, community involvement, and a deep commitment to making a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others.

Selection Process

The Archer Rivas Foundation Board of Directors carefully reviews all eligible scholarship applications. We look beyond academics alone.
Our team values students who demonstrate strong character, leadership, and a deep commitment to their communities.
We aim to support individuals who turn challenges into motivation and inspire others through their actions.

After reviewing applications, the Board invites selected scholarship finalists to participate in personal interviews.
These interviews allow students to share their goals, passions, and life experiences.
We believe hearing their stories helps us understand their full potential and unique perspectives.
Each conversation helps us connect with students on a personal level and celebrate what makes them exceptional.

We also take financial need into account when selecting final recipients.
Our goal is to reach students who may not have access to opportunities without additional support.
We strive to ensure each scholarship creates meaningful impact both academically and personally.

The selection process reflects our values: compassion, integrity, and a belief in every student’s ability to succeed.
By investing in future leaders, we continue the Foundation’s mission to build a stronger, more hopeful community.
